Nice to see Hooligans 2 hitting the local papers.... 19 months late!

Nice to see "Hooligans 2" hitting the headlines.... 19 months after it came out, this appeared in todays Shropshire Star. Do they have running water yet in Shrewsbury?

PS, can someone E Mail the paper and tell them some crazy Yank has shot John Lennon

Spotlight on football violence

Co-author Andy NichollsA new book that details the darker side of football features a look at Shrewsbury’s hooligan element and its rivalry with gangs following Wrexham and Telford.Hooligans 2, which is written by Nick Lowles and Andy Nicholls, features a 15-page chapter dedicated to Shrewsbury Town.

The book details the firms and rival gangs associated with football clubs from M-Z, following a previous volume which looked at the first half of the alphabet. It also features a history of soccer violence in the town. The book says violence in Shrewsbury related around the English Border Front and its rivalries with Wrexham and Telford. It says: “Organised football violence arrived late in the Shropshire market town. There had been the odd outbreak of disorder dating back to the mid-Sixties but it was essentially random.

Merry Christmas

Santa

At this special time of the year may I take time out to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Stay out of trouble, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, keep the roads safe and let the cabbies earn a living!

I'd like to give a special mention to all the British Troops abroad, they are a credit to the country and I wish them all a safe future.

I also hope the families of Evertonians Rhys Jones and Madeline McCann somehow manage to make it through what is sure to be a difficult festive period, our thoughts are with you.

This site is being overhauled in the next few weeks as the amount of  traffic coming through it and the offers of work etc has been excellent, so a few quid will be invested in it so please keep visiting and sending the e-mails as your support in making this the number one Hooliologist site is much appreciated.

Be Lucky

November Diary

Top Month! After the ups and downs in October, November was pure quality and we are on a run now stretching to 10 unbeaten since the defeat to the dark side, Everton are on a proper roll!

The highlight of the month was a trip to Nuremburg, and along with about 8000 other Blues I was privlieged to make the trip. Unlike the excursion to The Ukraine, the club were unable to cock up my flights to Germany and over 150 happy punters travelled on Scally Airlines! Money well spent was the general feedback and lets hope we have many more like it. One serious comment about the trip.... the local Police. I have had my problems with this lot over the years both at home and to be honest at most countries I have ever visited, in a nutshell, we quite simply dont get on! In Germany they were a credit to the country and the uniform they wore, allowing us all to enjoy ourselves with no petty rules and hassle, it was a stance that the police in this country should have a long hard look at! "Treat us as human beings and there is a fucking good chance we will act like them!" The win helped make the trip more enjoyable and another one at home to Zenith last week saw us top the group and qualify for the KO stages of the competition. Just as well as I could envisage problems in Holland had we needed something out of the game as only 1100 Everton fans are allowed in, as that is the pathetic allocation we have been given for the game in Alkmaar next week. About a third of those are for anyone willing to travel on the once again overpriced club trip, meaning that lads who have been to every game, including the one in The Ukraine can't get a ticket whilst any soft shite with £350 who has never been to a game in there lives can... it's a funny old game!

We ended November with a 7-1 battering of Sunderland, I was not there of course as I am still the only person in the country banned for life from a football ground for writing a book? My old mate Danny Collins was there, he plays for Sunderland, and as an Evertonian himself must have  been impressed with the display! One sad note from the day was the news that Dave Hickson had suffered a heart attack before the kick off whilst working in one of the lounges. It was touch and go for a while but in true style Dave fought back and i'm glad to say is back home and although very tired is looking forward to getting back to Goodison soon. I know Dave very well and he has been a guest of mine at a few games and functions, he's a top bloke and everyone wishes him a full and speedy recovery.

It would be rude of me not to mention the Home International sides dismal failure to qualify for next summers European Champuionships! I for one am glad England failed, for the sole reason that usless crock of shite Steve McLaren was binned off with immeadiate affect. The bloke is a pure bluffer, a decent coach maybe but his man management skills and enthusiasm are about a good as Fred West's Patio laying skills, he was a job bodge, and like Fred has been rumbled, long may his stint on the dole continue. The players must take some of the blame, I read this week about some fella who had gone missing for years and reappeared only to be arrested for fraud, well in that case Stevie fucking Gee Laaa should be nicked at once, that twat goes missing everytime he pulls an England shirt on and then reapprears for the shite like a new man 10 times a year?

Wales and Ireland as usual flopped, no surprise in that, both have limited resources and in Wales case they have a worse manger than McLaren! Toshack is a twat! End of story, he bleats he has nobody to select apart from kids playing lower league football yet refuses to pick Robbie Savage and Danny Collins because he had words with them when he was appointed. he should piss off back to Spain and give the job up to someone who cares about the county, unlike himself, as it is not the first time he has taken the job as a soft pay day until something better comes along.

The Jocks were unlucky... again, McFadden was quality for them during the qualifiers and I wont be surprised to see him join McLeish at Birmingham once the transfer window opens as he cant get a regualr game for us and Alex has said he would prefer people he has had under him before to join him at St Andrews... if the gossip about Wee James is true Alex could well get his man......!

October Diary By Andy Nicholls aged 44 & 3/4!!

What a month, it's been like a Yo Yo, we have had that many up's and downs! From winning late on in the Ukraine to losing in the last minute to the shite, Evertonians have had a crazy month!

It started well and I was lucky enough to make it to The Ukraine for the game against Metalist Kharkiv. I even went on the Official Club trip... more about that later! The trip was boss, priced at an amazing £659 for a day return it seems that Everton are trying to price out Joe Public. They should try something else as believe me after being starved of European Football for so many years due to having crap teams and that issue with our neighbours behaviour nothing would stop our loyal troops from attending. The club even caused a few cheaper independant trips (including my own) to be cancelled with a scare mongering slur that our planes would crashland due to a dodgey runway! Hence the floorboards had to come up and the trusty Scally retirement fund was disturbed once again! It was worth every penny, and in fairness to the Club, the trip was excellent, a rip off.. but quality. From looking like we were going out at the first hurdle (again) we pulled through and the scenes in and outside the ground were worth double what we paid.. maybe we are too easily pleased!

One thing that did piss me off was the people that complained to the club that I was allowed to go on the "Executive Trip" My ban from Goodison does not affect my right to travel abroad you utter pricks and I appreciate a few people at the club who put that point across to the very pillocks who never had the balls to ask me what I was doing there when sitting just a seat or two away from me. My money is as good as yours, so worry about  getting  a life and leave "ol Scally" to enjoy himself!

I then returned to my new base in Copenhagen and was mid air when the Bar Codes beat us 3-2. Newcastle are like the Shite, a few wins and the crazy fools think they are Champions Elect. Already the bubble has burst and Big Sam's head is on the chopping bloke.... some sized chopping bloke that will have to be by the way!

Next up was the game we all love to hate and I watched it with a few lads in a pub near Goodison. All I will say about the game is how times have changed! The Gobshites, sorry Kopites have bored any whopper daft enough to listen to them that The Derby is "OUR CUP FINAL" and just another game to them. Well if the scenes at the end of the match were anything to go by they have changed there priorities as you would swear they had won the League, FA Cup, Champions League, Milk, Worthington, Carling whatever Cup, Wimbledon, The Boat Race and the fucking Lottery the way they celebrated... How the mighty have fallen, "What would Shanks have said!!" As for the Ref, it's a difficult job and having been a Ref myself I know how hard it is to get everything right and refuse to critisise match officials.  Saying that Mark Clattenburg needs a very large hot poker inserting up his backside to remove the amount of Liverpool players DNA that have obviously been inserted up there during his summer holiday tour with them!

In true Everton fashion we bounced back! Winning the remaining 3 games in October, at home to Larrisia, and away to Derby and Luton in the LC. Things are looking rosy, injured players are coming back into the squad and for once we have numbers to sustain a push for a Cup Win and a decent run in Europe. At Derby it is safe to say we witnessed a side doomed for relegation, they were as bad a side as I have seen for years and that ground in the middle of an Industrial Estate is souless...Anyone there still for Kirkby?

GALLERY SORTED HAVE A NOSE PLUS.....Monthly Update (September!!!)

After the shite month Everton had on the pitch I was glad to see the back of September but during the last few days we won a couple of games to take the pressure off Moyes who was by all accounts in danger of losing his job? Who out there daft enough would replace him is anyones guess but thankfully all settled down and he did not even need the dreaded vote of confidence from the board after comfortable wins against Sheff Wed in the League Cup and Boro in the Premiership.

The trip to Hillsbrough brought back memories of some top days out there in the 80's, the place now is a shadow of it's former self, on and off the pitch everything is bottom of the range and they are one club I can't see returning to there former status unless huge money is ploughed into the club. To be honest they look like they are on the bones of there arses!

Boro are going the same way, they have spent millions and won... well not much and look like a side going down. There support is dire and the team not much better. Boro used to be the one fixture I looked forward to.... for all the wrong reasons, now it's about as exciting as playing Blackburn... say no more!

Talking of Boro, I was saddened to hear whilst abroad of the untimely death of my old rival and mate, Paul Debrick. Paul wrote the better of the 2 Boro books, "The Brick" and was one funny fella.

We had some great laughs as well as punch ups and his sudden passing made me realise that you have to live every day as it comes and enjoy it to the full. That's what Paul did and although taken away too soon crammed as much into his short life as most people who live to twice his age could only dream of.

RIP Big Fella

Weekly Football Report!

After a week like Everton have just had I preferred it when I could go missing and only scribe on here once in a blue moon!

We were unlucky to get nothing from the game against United, a point each would have been a fair return but if you go to sleep at set pieces against the likes of United you get what you deserve, a big fat fuck all. Unfortunately for us we have the likes of Tony Hibbert playing week in week out and he must take more sedatives than Sleeping Beauty the amount of times he nods off.

So to Europe and the usual Everton anti climax show! In 1985 we won the Cup Winners Cup beating Rapid Vienna in the final since then we have been used to Rapid Exit and this year looks like being the same. To draw 1-1 with some duff outfit from The Ukraine is bad enough, to miss 2 penalty's against a team that end up with 9 men is an embarrassment. I think we all knew it was going to be a bad night when a sole Magpie landed on the penalty spot in the second half, AJ should have kicked that over the roof of the Gladys Street and let Baines take the penalty, we'd be still in with a decent chance of going through! The club once again made a laughing stock of themselves by cocking up ticket distribution, 6,000 locked out and the game help up for 30 minutes whilst on live National TV, those responsible should be sacked End of chat. Forever the optimist, I still think we may progress as we can't play any worse and I doubt they can't play any better... don't hold your breath! To be honest after the circus that was the first leg I would not be too concerned if we went out!

Onto Villa, I used to love that place, we had great days there in Semi Finals, however it is now a place where we always seem to play shite at. The only time we have won there in recent times is when I was banned, says it all really! If ever there was a case to get developers to look at Goodison though Villa Park is the perfect example. A few years ago it was not too dissimilar to our Gaff, today it must be one of the best in Europe, an old style ground with top notch facilities. I may be biased as I get in for nothing and am wined and dined but Everton could do a lot worse than ask the bloke who sorted the old Villa Park out before moving to Kirkby, unlike most people employed at Goodison, he seems to know what he's doing!

Can't sign off without mentioning the departure of "The Special One" at Chelsea, I think he will be missed in the Premiership, he was something different to most of the boring twats who manage today and always good for a laugh. The late great Brian Clough will never be bettered in our game for success and entertainment in my eyes but Jose had a go and I was sorry to see him go.

His departure was greeted with smiles at Anfield, just 3 weeks ago home of the "Champions Elect!" if Chelsea's bubble has burst they have one less team to challenge for the title that many would have given them after beating the mighty Derby County 6-0. Alas it seems the fat Spanish waiter with the silly Goatee is yet another manager who still can't find that final piece for that jigsaw the fuckers have been trying to complete for the past 16 years :-)
