Andy Nicholls is known to every football intelligence officer in Britain. For twenty-five years, he was one of the most active hooligans in the country, a leading figure among the violent followers of Everton Football Club.
Classified as a Category C thug - the worst kind - he amassed more than twenty arrests for football-related offences and has been deported from Belgium, Iceland and Sweden. His terrace fanzine "Get Into them" was closed down by the authorities and he was banned from every ground in the UK.
Andy has been banned from Everton Football Club for life whilst for years he had to go through the almost like clockwork routine of handing in his passport to officials when teams were playing in international waters.
Andy has now left his hooligan past behind and become a respected author and media expert on the subject of Football Hooliganism. He was a guest at Hampden Park and spoke to over 500 people alongside the Scottish Justice Minister at the introduction of the FBO's in Scotland and has attended many informal talks and seminar's where he openly speaks of his past in the hope that people will learn from his mistakes.
Andy also works with scores of sporting legends on the after dinner circuit where as well as speaking about his own exploits he is an established compare for well known past players.
Since he left his violent past behind Andy has raised over £50,000 for various good causes, something the press seem to be reluctant on reporting on!
Scally - The book they tried to ban
Since the publication of Scally which has now sold over 50,000 copies Andy has featured in the best selling book, "Terrace legends" co written by Cass Pennant and Martin King. His second book published in November 2005 called "Hooligans: A-L of Britain's Football Gangs Volume 1" is regarded as the most complete publication ever written about the Football Hooligan culture and the follow up, " Hooligans: Volume 2 The M-Z of Britain's Football Gangs" was released in time for the lucrative xmas market in 2006.
Not being one to miss out on a marketing opportunity Andy wrote "30 years of Hurt" which was published by Cass Pennant just in time for the 2006 World Cup, a book which made the news headlines and best selling charts last summer.
Following the larger £14.99 volume selling out, September 2007 saw the release of Hooligans, in an updated pocket size paperback format, this will be followed up by Hooligans 2 being released in a similar format in time for xmas. Both new releases will be available, signed, direct from this website.
Andy has worked part time for Sky TV as a Hooliologist and has featured on several Hooligan Documentaries including the hugely popular "Fucking Hooligans" and the recent "Real Football factories" hosted by Danny Dyer and is working closely with film and TV companies on several projects due to be released in the near future. The main project being a DVD imaginatively entitled "Scally"!!! The DVD will feature news footage and all TV clips featuring Andy on one disc as well as various clips of Everton's hooligan exploits.
